Well, things have calmed down a bit over the past day or two. For a while there life was kinda hectic. I had been working non-stop on a family history book for the Wardell Reunion that was quickly approaching (over Memorial weekend) and then Duane called and asked if I could pick him up at the airport the next morning. Sadly, his father had died on the 16th of May. Gladly though, Duane was coming home for about ten days.
The memorial for Van was held on Friday, the 21st of May, so we headed down to Mesa as soon as possible after Duane got here. Lucky for us, Dillon and Valerie are still living down there so we got to spend a few days with them and the girls. They are still adorable. We ended up going o a safari park about two hours north of the kid's home where it was dusty but not too hot. Dillon coaxed London to pet a snake but it didn't quite work on Sydney--BUT! VALERIE DID touch the snake! We fed carrots to the camel and the giraffe and we saw a diving tiger and a swimming bear and lots of other animals before we left at closing time. Here are a few of the pics of our adventures...
