Road Trippin'

Here are a few pics of our recent trip through Canada to Alaska.  It took us five days of driving 10 to 12 hours a day.  Although all of Canada is beautiful (the parts that we drove), my favorite parts were the northern-most part of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.  We saw all kinds of wildlife this trip; from mountain goats and fox to wild buffalo, moose and bear.  We saw a total of five black bear and three grizzly bears!!!

WHY DOESN'T UHAUL ALLOW YOU TO HAVE A SPARE!?

So, we were going up over a little rise in the road and when we got to the top, we both saw what looked like a rail road tie in the middle of our lane.  There was no time to do anything but swerve and hold our breath.  There was oncoming traffic, a semi following us, and no shoulder to the road.  It was too big to center the truck over so Duane swerved.  The car trailer caught the tie and bent the wheel.  To make a long story short, we sat and waited four hours for the Uhaul repair guy to find us.  By the way, northern Canada does not have great cell coverage so don't break down if at all possible.

There were quite a few wild buffalo that grazed
along the side of the highway when we got to
the northern part of British Columbia and into
the Yukon Territory.

a picture, he started charging
toward the truck.  We got out
of there a little quicker than this
photographer wanted.

Paintbrush!!  I've never seen one that tall before!

This is a wasp that was buzzing around the truck
when we stopped one time.  The bugs are HUGE!
He was as big as my finger to the second knuckle.
