The Motherwell Lodge Surprise

A couple weeks ago CR and ma'man became very mysterious.  Wanda's birthday was approaching and we knew that Carl Ray was up to something but we couldn't figure out what.  Duane was totally silent on the subject so I decided to just wait it out and see what happened.
We had planned on making a trip up to Trapper's Lake in Colorado (a favorite camping area from our child hood memories) but no solid plans were made....but Carl Ray said it was taken care of and that he got us reservations.  I wasn't sure what that actually meant and that was all the information that we were given.  So, we packed up what we thought we might need for this mystery weekend and headed out Sunday after church.
Carl Ray has a lady working the Steamboat store named Sheryl Brady.  She is married to Brent, a guy we grew up with.  They had invited us to their place for dinner before we went over to Trappers.  Or, so we thought.  When we got there, they led us up this beautiful mountain to the very top.  There they showed us this beautiful lodge that overlooked a lake.  Sheryl began preparing a BBQ of steaks, twice-baked potatoes and salad while Brent gave us a royal tour.  Little did we know, this was the mysterious "camping" trip that had been planned.  We had the run of the entire lodge!!!  Normally they charge $350 per person--per night!, but we were getting it for free.  When mom was told that we were staying in the lodge, she had a hard time wrapping her head around the idea...in fact, we all did because it was such an incredible opportunity that people like us do not come across in a whole lifetime!
We had a wonderful three days lounging around on the deck, taking walks in the trees, playing games, boating, and fishing.  Brent was determined to make it the vacation of a lifetime.
